Sammy’s in Harrisburg is an absolute standout and one of those rare spots. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure our experience was nothing short of excellent. What ever you order it is clearly made with care and attention to detail. It’s not just the food that sets Sammy’s it’s the vibe. Sammy’s feels like a trusted favorite that never disappoints. Such a cute gem in the heart of Harrisburg's downtown area. Had dinner with a few friends, the food was excellent, giving you an authentic Italian meal. When the food came out we initially thought, not the largest portion but we quickly learned that the portion was just right, with all the right seasoning. I was very pleased with my visit, so I told my husband that we must visit again.
Sammy’s is our favorite Italian spot in Harrisburg. The food is phenomenal, seafood is always fresh and the service always makes you feel like you’re a VIP. You will most definitely get to meet Sammy himself as he is not only the owner, but also the chef and occasionally the guy who opens your wine! Best part about this place is that it’s BYOB!
I have been going to this restaurant my entire life. It is truly the best restaurant in Pennsylvania! Sammy always prepares his food fresh and I have never had a bad a dish. The service is always amazing and Arin is truly the best waitress! She always goes above and beyond for my family and I. She always greets us with a bright smile and is always super helpful with our dinner selections. I dare you to ask her the specials when you get the chance. She can rattle off everything forwards and backwards. She also is super thoughtful in remembers us when we visit special occasions.
Fantastic service, very friendly family run restaurant with a variety of mouth- watering choices. We started off with the lobster ravioli app. which were fantastic, homemade with chunks of lobster in a delicious cream sauce. Slightly spicey and just perfectly cooked. My main course was shrimp and scallops in a pesto cream sauce and my husband had the steak napoleon. B9th were fantastic. I'm definitely returning next time I'm in town
Without a doubt the best authentic Italian food I’ve ever had. On top of that the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and it is in the best location you can find in Harrisburg. Sitting directly across from the capitol you get the prettiest views from their big open windows. With the views, people watching, attentive staff, warm atmosphere, and magnificent food, you simply cannot find a better restaurant in all of Harrisburg. The staff will make you smile, the food will fill your tummy and soul, and the atmosphere and view will make you awe. Definitely give Sammy’s a visit!

Let’s start with the food: I ordered the Grouper for my entree, and wow. Perfectly cooked, flaky, buttery, with just the right seasoning to let the freshness shine. Every bite was a mini vacation for my taste buds. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better—I met the flan. Creamy, silky, caramel perfection. Honestly, if they boxed it up and sold it by the dozen, I’d be their first subscriber. But here’s the real star of the show: the service. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, like we were guests in their home rather than just diners in a restaurant. Friendly, attentive, and thoughtful without being overbearing—this is hospitality done right. And just when I was ready to roll myself home and write a love letter to the kitchen, I found out... they serve halal meats. That was the cherry on top of an already perfect evening.
